Young Francisco Goya's awareness of mortality came to him in the form of Nathan the Unicornibearasuarus Rex. The nightmare creature frightened Goya, devouring it's own spawn to stave off an inevitable succession. Goya thus drew the menacing act from his existential terror on the walls of his bedroom (much to his parents' chagrin).
